A pair of early-stage investors, who have made fivefold returns funding African startups since 2017, said they plan to list a blank-check company targeting technology companies from the continent.

ACE Convergence (ACEV) Adds $200M to Tempo Automation Deal

ACE Convergence Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ:ACEV) has secured its combination with electronics manufacturer Tempo Automation with $200 million in convertible notes financing announced this morning.

This new money will replace $54 million originally destined for the post-combination company in the form of a senior debt facility and is made up of $175 million from Oaktree Capital Management and $25 million from an ACE Convergence affiliate.

AIB Acquisition Corp. (AIBBU) Prices $75M IPO

AIB Acquisition Corp. announced the pricing of its $75 million IPO and its units are expected to begin trading on the Nasdaq under the symbol “AIBBU” Wednesday, January 19.

The new SPAC intends to focus its search on businesses in the fintech industry with a total enterprise value between $225 million and $375 million.

Oaktree Acquisition Corp. II (OACB) Upsizes PIPE for Alvotech Deal

Oaktree II (NYSE:OACB) announced this afternoon it has secured an additional $21 million in funding for a total PIPE size of approximately $175 million to finance its combination with biopharma company Alvotech.

Gores Metropoulos II, Inc. (GMII) Shareholders Approve Sonder Deal

Gores Metropoulos II, Inc. (NASDAQ:GMII) announced that its shareholders have approved its combination with next-generation hospitality firm Sonder Holdings in a special meeting held Friday, January 14.

The press release did not disclose redemption amounts, but presumably that will be filed shortly.

Yellowstone Acquisition Company (YSAC) Adds FPA to Sky Harbour Deal

Yellowstone Acquisition Company (NYSE:YSAC) announced this morning that it has supplemented the financing for its business combination with airport hanger manager Sky Harbour by adding a forward purchase agreement.

The FPA will include financing up to $70 million through an affiliate of Atalaya Capital Management LP.

Pioneer Merger Corp. (PACX) and Acorns Mutually Terminate Deal

Pioneer Merger Corp. (Nasdaq:PACX) and Acorns, the saving and investing app, announced this morning via 8-K that they have opted to mutually terminate their business combination agreement.

While we do not have a formal press release, according to Bloomberg, the deal was terminated due to market conditions.

CF Acquisition Corp. V (CFV) Adds $150M to Satellogic Deal

CF Acquisition Corp V. (NASDAQ:CFV) announced this morning that it has added $150 million to its combination with orbital imagery company Satellogic.

The new investment comes from Steven Mnuchin’s private equity firm Liberty Strategic Capital, bringing the total capital raised to more than $265 million, net of expected redemptions of CFV stock, and including a $100 million combined investment led by SoftBank and Cantor Fitzgerald, among other institutional investors.

Poema Global Holdings Corp. (PPGH) Adds $27.5M to Gogoro PIPE
